Treasury

Your venture's money should belong to the venture — not to whoever happens to hold the account. The treasury gives you a shared account with multi-approval controls: spending needs sign-off from more than one partner.

The three tabs

Set up a treasury account

You have two options:

Create a new account

Click Create Account to deploy a fresh Safe multisig account for your venture. Safe is the most widely used multi-signature account standard — your funds sit in an account controlled by your partners together, not by any one of them.

During setup you choose the approval threshold: how many partners must approve a payment before it goes out. A common choice for a 3-person venture is 2-of-3.

Link an existing account

Already have a Safe from before you formed? Click Link Existing and point Entity.ID at it. Your existing balances and signers show up in the Treasury tab, and the account becomes part of your venture's records.

How multi-approval spending works

1. A member proposes a payment: recipient, amount, note.
2. Other partners see it and approve or reject.
3. When the approval threshold is reached, the payment executes.

Every step is recorded. Six months from now you can answer "who approved this and when?" without digging through anyone's inbox.

Where fundraising money goes

When investors sign SAFEs, their funds settle directly to the venture treasury — not to a founder's personal account. That's the point: money raised by the venture is held by the venture.
